• The TOEFL, or Test of English as a Foreign Language, is an internationally accepted exam designed to assess the English language skills of individuals whose first language is not English.
• This test measures proficiency across four essential sections: Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing.
• There are two primary formats of the exam: TOEFL iBT and TOEFL Essentials.
• TOEFL scores are recognised by more than 12,500 institutions globally, including those in the USA, UK, and Canada.

Why take the TOEFL Exam?

• More than 40 million people worldwide have taken the TOEFL test.
• The TOEFL iBT is accepted in over 200 countries for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
• Your TOEFL score provides a clear measure of your English proficiency, helping universities and institutions assess your ability to succeed academically.
• Achieving a strong score can enhance your application and make it more competitive.

• Test results are generally made available within 4 to 8 days after taking the exam.
• You can access your scores by signing in to your ETS account and navigating to the results section.
• Highly ranked universities often expect higher scores, typically in the range of 100 to 115.
• Additionally, programs that require a deeper or more advanced level of study tend to set higher minimum score requirements.

• Each section is scored on a scale of 0 to 30, depending on your performance.
• Your total TOEFL iBT score is calculated by combining these section scores, resulting in an overall range of 0 to 120.
• The scoring approach is straightforward: you earn points for correct answers, and there is no penalty for incorrect responses.
• TOEFL scores remain valid for a period of two years from the date they are issued.
• If you plan to use your results for applications, they must be submitted within this validity window.
• ETS allows you to send your scores to up to four universities at no extra cost.
• If you want to report your scores to more than four institutions, an additional fee of INR 1,950 per university is required.

• TOEFL MyBest scores, often referred to as TOEFL superscores, allow you to present your best overall performance.
• If you have taken the TOEFL exam multiple times, this feature combines your highest section scores from different attempts into one consolidated score.
• You can view your TOEFL MyBest scores in your TOEFL iBT score report.

• The TOEFL iBT is available in 39 cities across India, including key locations such as Bangalore, Delhi, Chennai, and Ahmedabad.
• During the registration process, you can choose a test city and centre that is most convenient for you.
